There are three signed trails for dogs to enjoy, all well signed from the visitor centre and easy to reach from the car park.
This is a wonderful dog walking park, and the wildness of the park surprises too, given that it lies so close to Manchester and in the middle of a tangle of different motorways.

With 600 acres of parkland, Heaton Park is a massively popular open space for Mancunians, and their dogs. You can get here easily from several M60 junctions, and also the M62.
Wonderful dog walk from Mottram Road in Stalybridge, up the road to the farm, through the farm up on to the hills is wonderful.
There's plenty of space here for a good long dog walk, either on the signed trails or just rambling around the 200 hectares of the park.

This Country Park between Manchester and Bolton is a haven of calm even though it's so close to the motorway. On the day we visited the air was pungent with the scent of wild flowers.
