This former haven of highwaymen and smugglers is now a popular destination for local dog walkers. It's a mix of woodland and heathland with an extensive system of bridleways and small paths.
Nice quiet sand and pebble beach with marram grass dunes. Dog-friendly.

This walk is 0.9 mile, mainly flat terrain. The Royal Inn has plenty of outside eating benches with gazebo covering. Currently open for business from noon each day.

Frank's Freedom Field is a 3 acre field surrounded on all sides by 6' high tornado fencing. It offers on field parking so you can drive in, lock the gate behind you and let your dogs out of the car.
