Ale Water picnic spot, Scotland A very out of the way riverside picnic spot with access to the river for hot dogs. There's nothing going on in the village, although it was home to the 18th century poet William Knox.
Historical dog walk in the Marches, Herefordshire This is one of my favourite castles on the Welsh/English border. It's perfect for a gentle stroll with the dog, a boisterous game site for travel-weary kids or even a romantic picnic.
Ladybelt country park, not far from the A11, Norfolk This is a great spot with free parking not far from the A11, the main circular route takes around 45mins, dogs are required to stay on the lead between March and September due to birds nesting.
