This is a great place to give the dog a walk if you're heading into London, where open space with free parking gets harder to find.
As well as a long, long beach with loads of dogs and no restrictions, you could also take a boat trip here. Or take the seasonal foot ferry to nearby Walberswick.

This seems to be a village that the 21st century had nearly forgotten, and it's a very relaxing spot for a walk. The village pub is dog-friendly.
A 3 mile moorland walk in a landscape steeped in history, from thousands of years ago to a folly commemorating the Reform Act. It's a great walk at any time of the year.

There are two marked trails through the 85 acre woodland here, one with no steps or stiles.
A glorious 2-mile there-and-back short walk beside a sparkling river. It's dogs delight for swimming, or just a paw-wash at the end to clean the dog off in muddy weather.
Turn right off Brock Mill Lane to find Brock Valley Picnic Site and a free car park. A notice board has details of all the walks available.
Redditch has a bit of an off-putting road system, but it's worth trusting your satnav to get you to this linear country park for a break.

The pub is the highlight here. It is a fine thatched Berkshire hostelry and really popular. It is not really near a good walk unless you are prepared to do a fair amount of road walking to get there.

Shell and sandy beach with no restrictions for dogs.
Biggest park in the area, with a mix of scrubland, an ancient moated manor house and trees. It's dogs on leads only (see the comment below) so don't forget the long lead if you're planning to visit.
Junction 24 Thouarc
This is a delightful dog walk alongside the River Loire and then a stroll through the atmospheric village of Rochefort.
If you're looking for a traditional day out at the seaside, this is the perfect spot. Dogs are welcome on a long stretch of the beach.
